Abstract


Il COVID 19 come altri coronavirus penetra nell'epitelio polmonare grazie al legame con l'enzima ACE2 posto sulla membrana cellulare. Per l'importanza di questo enzima nella fisiopatologia cardiovascolare e nel meccanismo d'azione di farmaci di largo uso รจ utile conoscere eventuali implicazioni nella prevenzione e nel corso di infezione da COVID-19.

COVID 19 penetration in the lung alveolar epithelial cells is mediated by a binding with ACE2 on cellular membrane surface. ACE2 is a key enzyme in cardiovascular homeostasis and physiopathology and for the action of some extensively utilized drugs. A knowledge about some implications for prevention and for treatment during the COVID 19 infections could be very useful.
