La disfunzione ventricolare sinistra e lo scompenso sono i quadri più rilevanti ed i meglio conosciuti, ma non bisogna dimenticare altre forme di tossicità come l'ipertensione, il tromboembolismo, le pericarditi, le aritmie e l'ischemia miocardica. Il loro trattamento non è sempre identico a quello usato nei pazienti non oncologici poiché la patogenesi ed il quadro clinico sono diversi, ma soprattutto perché la gravità del tumore e la prospettiva di vita richiedono di non sospendere Parole chiave: Farmaci antitumorali; Terapia antiblastica; Cardiotossicità; Scompenso cardiaco. Abstract Cardiotoxicity of anticancer treatments has become an important clinical problem for cardiologists and oncologists. Left ventricular systolic dysfunction and heart failure are the most important toxicities but there are other forms of cardiovascular disease secondary to anticancer drugs as hypertension, thromboembolic disease, pericardial disease, arrhythmia, and myocardial ischemia. The approach to cardiovascular disease in patients with cancer is often different from that in the general population, not only because of a distinct pathogenesis and clinical features but also because of the potential ongoing need for additional cancer treatment as well as the altered duration of anticipated survival. In an effort to maximize patient's quality of life, cardiologists and oncologists should collaborate with the aim of balancing the risks of cardiotoxicity with the benefits of oncologic therapy.
