Con la diffusione di questa tecnica terapeutica e l''aumentato della sopravvivenza dei pazienti oncologici sottoposti a radioterapia del torace si è assistito ad un progressivo aumento dell'incidenza malattie cardiovascolari, espressione della tossicità secondaria della RT, che hanno suscitato grande interesse dalla comunità scientifica negli ultimi anni, permettendo di approfondire gli aspetti fisiopatologici, diagnostici e terapeutici. Parole chiave: Radioterapia; Cardiopatia indotta da radiazioni; Malattie cardiovascolari; Cancro. Abstract Radiotherapy plays a fundamental role in the management protocols of certain cancer diseases. With the spread of this therapeutic technique and the increased survival of cancer patients undergoing chest radiotherapy, there has been a progressive increase in the incidence of cardiovascular diseases, expression of the secondary toxicity of RT, which have aroused great interest from the scientific community in recent years, allowing to deepen the pathophysiology, diagnostic and therapeutic aspects.
