Gli schemi terapeutici sono diventati più aggressivi e sono stati introdotti nuovi farmaci che hanno determinato un aumento della qualità e della quantità della vita in genere per i pazienti affetti da neoplasie. Parole chiave: Cardiotossicità; Chemioterapia; Ecocardiografia; Biomarcatori. Abstract Over the past twenty years, steady progresses have been made in the treatment of neoplastic diseases. Therapeutic regimens have become more aggressive and new drugs have been introduced which have led to an increased survival and quality of life in cancer patients. The downside of this success has been the increase in toxic effects, and in particular the increase in mortality and morbidity from cardiovascular causes.
