In the present article, we report a case of massive pulmonary embolism in a 63-years old woman with non-Hodgkin lymphoma receiving chemotherapy treatment. Due to the acute onset of hemiparesis, the patient was hospitalized and developed deep venous thrombosis and massive pulmonary embolism. These complications are quite common in neoplastic patients and their prevention and management represent an objective of primary importance. Currently, low molecular weight heparin represents the gold standard of treatment of venous thromboembolism in neoplastic patients, however recent evidences indicate that direct oral anticoagulants as well can be safely used in most of neoplastic patients.
