Cardiovascular Implication in Oncologic Emergencies

Abstract
La patologia neoplastica è caratterizzata spesso da una serie di implicazioni che coinvolgono il sistema cardiovascolare. Le modalità con cui questo avviene sono molteplici e spaziano dalle rare prime localizzazioni cardiache, alle sindromi paraneoplastiche ad interessamento cardiaco, spesso prima manifestazione del disturbo. La neoplasia ha poi tutta una serie di implicazioni strutturali, legate alla sua presenza, che possono generare urgenze ed emergenze cardiovascolari e le terapie citotossiche, insieme alle nuove terapie specifiche (targeted therapies, check point inhibitors), hanno esse stesse un ruolo nella genesi di complicanze cardiovascolari. Il presente articolo fa una rapida carrellata su queste manifestazioni fornendo strumenti utili e rapidi per la diagnosi e la terapia.

Abstract
Neoplastic disease is often characterized by a series of implications involving the cardiovascular system. The ways in which this happens are many and range from rare first cardiac localizations, to paraneoplastic syndromes with cardiac involvement, that are often the first manifestation of the disorder. The neoplasm also has a whole series of structural implications related to its presence that can generate cardiovascular urgencies and emergencies and cytotoxic therapies, together with new specific therapies (targeted therapies, check point inhibitors) themselves play a role to the genesis of cardiovascular complications. This article provides a quick overview of these manifestations by providing useful and rapid tools for diagnosis and therapy.
