Abstract
This section outlines the process and methodology for the implementation of the Consensus Document among the Italian Scientific Societies on Women’s Cardiovascular Health. The initiative was promoted by ARCA, which involved the main Italian cardiology societies and the Reference Center for Gender Medicine of the National Institute of Health. Each participating society and institution appointed three experts to the Technical Scientific Committee (CTS), which later expanded to a board of fourteen experts. The CTS was responsible for organizing the working groups (GDLs), defining their topics and the composition of each one according to the skills required. Eleven GDLs were formed, consisting of forty-five experts. Each group freely appointed its own coordinator. The multidisciplinary experience within the GDLs has allowed a complete exploration of the multifaceted aspects of cardiovascular problems in women. For topics with less evidence, a consensus voting procedure was applied using a Delphi-like method (results already published). The process of drafting the final document involved a Writing Committee and multiple rounds of review by the Scientific Committee and all experts, culminating in institutional and scientific society approval. This structured approach ensured the document was scientifically rigorous, inclusive, and practical.
